SCHOOL-BASED TEACHER EDUCATORS'

1-DAY CONFERENCE SPOTLIGHT

In the spirit of the theme of partnerships, ATEA would like to recognise the importance of school-based teacher educators in partnerships. The final day of the conference, Friday 14th July,  will feature a special one-day Teacher Stream. 

The Friday school-based teacher education stream provides space for those in schools to discuss the partnership activities that happen in schools, and contribute to the education of pre-service and in-service teachers. 

We invite those engaged in the education of pre-service and in-service teachers in schools to submit an abstract to share these activities and the impact they have on their teachers and the teaching profession. 

Also included is a lunch-time book launch of the Springer book, Work-Integrated Learning Case Studies in Teacher Education: Epistemic Reflexivity, which highlights university and school/system partnership work within NSW schools. 

The day concludes with an interactive panel event around the theme “Creating authentic nexus between universities, schools and systems (and/or industry)”. 

The panel comprises university, pre-service teacher, school and system voices who will discuss key ideas related to authentic partnerships. Opportunities for small group discussions will follow and be led by panel members and experts in the field focusing on key issues/topics.  Groups will be encouraged to have a variety of voices from the various educational contexts to enable deep and rich discussion.
